Q: When are you moving to Mexico?
A: We are here! We arrived in Sept. 2012
Q: How long are you staying?
A: The current plan is 2 years, but in everything, we want to be open to whatever opportunities God has for us.
Q: Why Mexico City?
A: We have a great support system of friends already living there; we will be working with a church that values community; we will be working with ministries doing really hard, amazing things, such as The Well; but most importantly, we are going because God has asked us to go.
Q: Don't you know that Mexico is really dangerous right now?
A: Yes. We do know that some parts of Mexico are filled with turmoil. We have struggled with this, sought counsel, prayed, and in the end, we have peace about living in Mexico City.
Q: What are you doing there?
A: We've been here for a year now! Mandy is currently working at The Well, teaching English and doing administrative work. We are also both on the leadership team of Vereda, the local church we attend and Alan assists with leading worship. In addition to these larger roles, we LOVE hosting teams, mentoring young(er) people, housing visitors, and serving in whatever way we can.
Q: Do you still need more monthly supporters?
A: It's a tricky business, this monthly support thing. Though we raised 100% of our budget in the form of monthly commitments, we don't always receive 100%. So, yes, we could totally use more monthly supporters!
Q: How can I give financially?
A: That really depends on two things. One, are you wanting to give a one-time gift, or become a monthly supporter? Two, are you wanting your gift to be tax-deductible? Any support going through Worship Center is tax-deductible, whether a one-time gift or a reoccurring monthly support.
For a one-time, tax-deductible donation, send a check to: Worship Center, Attn: WC Missions, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601. Include a note with our names on it, either "Alan Johnson" or "thejohnsonsinmexico." Please do not write "Johnsons" as we are not the only Johnsons missionaries at Worship Center.
